Paul Staley - Director of Direct Lettings
Paul has a breadth of knowledge and experience working in the UK property sector. Paul was part of the team who launched Mortgageforce and Shepherd Surveyors, before leaving the Shepherd Direct Group in 2005. He went on to establish a number of property related businesses with specific focus on HIPs and Energy Surveys. He returned to the Group in 2011 to spearhead Shepherd Direct into the lettings sector as Managing Director of Direct Lettings.
Cathy Staley - Group Finance Director
Cathy joined Direct Valuations in 1989. Since joining, the Group has grown substantially and Cathy’s wealth of experience and expertise of start ups has proved to be a significant factor in the ongoing success of the business. Cathy is currently responsible for all of the financial requirements of the Group which include statutory and management accounts, tax, risk and audit.
Louise Jefferies – Head of Business Development
Louise joined us in 2010 to focus on business development, corporate partnerships and a focus on new revenue streams across the group. Louise believes that passion and an entrepreneurial spirit is what drives her and the business she works for.
Louise's key focus is linking up our business opportunities and corporate relationships to deliver the best customer outcome whilst delivering commercial advantage to our business. Specifically in CENTURY 21 Louise leads the delivery of the ‘CENTURY 21 Way' which offers consumers a much improved and different experience in dealing with an estate agent and offers a franchisee the tools to build a successful and profitable business.
Lesley Sharkey – Franchise Development Director, CENTURY 21 UK
Lesley Sharkey has spent the last 20 years of her career in the Estate Agency business and has held senior positions within the UK’s largest corporate agency and the last 5 years with CENTURY 21 as Operations Director. Lesley believes that passion for property and outstanding customer service are the ingredients of her success and that of a successful business.
Jo Crinson – Account Director, Direct Lettings
Jo is a customer experience professional who has over 25 years’ experience in management roles in both financial services and residential property sales organisations where she has played a central role in three major FS FTSE 100 product launches, and has experience of a number of transformation programs, all focussed on delivery and enhancing the customer experience, thereby improving customer satisfaction. Jo has also recently built a successful Manchester based property sales team and agent network where she managed numerous residential property sales launches and investor roadshows. Jo is passionate about the customer journey and getting it right first time which will be critical to our making a success of the Sigma opportunity for our Group
Natalie Tate – Head of Customer Operations
Natalie joined the Shepherd Direct Group earlier this year after spending the previous 12 years working in financial services. During this time Natalie undertook a number of roles across Product, Marketing and relationship management within both Egg and Citigroup. During this period Natalie implemented a number of high profile business transformation strategies and latterly managed business relationships during the sale of the different divestitures of Egg and Citi. Natalie is passionate about customer experience and ensuring we always deliver a first rate customer service proposition.
Herre De Leur - Group Planning & Forecasting Manager
Herre joined the Group in 2007, and worked in various operational roles for Shepherd Chartered Surveyors and moneyQuest. During this time, he demonstrated a key interest in MI, and developed new, forward-thinking ways for the companies to capture and understand data. In 2011, Herre became the Group Planning and Forecast Manager. His responsibilities include MI design and distribution, financial modelling and forecasting and customer acquisition into the Financial Services businesses.
Hannah Lawrence – Marketing Manager
Hannah joined moneyQuest Mortgage Brokers in 2009. In 2010, she became the Marketing and Brand Coordinator for moneyQuest, where initial projects included a total re-brand and rebuild of the website. Hannah was responsible for developing the Direct Lettings brand and helped us to set up our financial services proposition, if I were you. She became the Marketing and Brand Manager for the Shepherd Direct Group in 2011.
Warren Elliott – Head of IT
Warren joined Direct Valuations in 2003, following four years in retail software development in South Africa. After two years in the operations environment, he became the first ever member of the MI department. As well as delivering in-house development, Warren has been instrumental in the design and delivery of numerous system implementations and in integrating all company data into one manageable business intelligence environment. Warren's primary objectives are to enable the best possible journey for both customers and colleagues. This aim supports his on-going focus of delivering quick and easy access to data for all at all times, whilst never sacrificing security or control of information.
Claire Lydon - Key Account Manager
Claire joined the business in 1996 and is responsible for maintaining and developing the relationships we have with several of our lender clients. Claire is also very much involved with meeting new prospective clients and introducing them to our operation based in Nottingham. Claire is extremely knowledgeable of the panel management and surveying industry and is happy to advise and help whenever she can.
Jo Juving – Key Account Manager
Jo joined the business in 2013 as Corporate Relationship Manager, taking responsibility for maintaining relationships with our Corporate Clients and meeting prospective Clients. Jo has over 18 years Operational and Client Relationship experience within the Surveying industry, having previously worked at Countrywide Surveying Services and e.surv chartered Surveyors. Her role requires her to maintain and build excellent working relationships with our Corporate Clients to enhance the customer journey. Jo acts as a key focal point of the relationship and ensures service delivery is met, whilst providing an outstanding personal service. She strongly believes in providing exceptional customer service to all Clients.
Giles Smith - Chief Surveyor for England & Wales
Giles qualified as a Chartered Building Surveyor in 1989. Starting out in private practice, he gained extensive experience of the residential property markets across the South of England, working in a diverse group of locations, such as London, the Home Counties and North Devon. He then began to work as a staff surveyor for C&G and Lloyds, where he spent over a decade gaining valuable professional management experience and insight into the workings of a large financial institution. Giles joined Shepherd Chartered Surveyors in 2007 and is now Chief Surveyor for England and Wales, with multi-disciplinary responsibility and a specialist in residential surveying.
Sarah Tuck – Mortgage Sales Manager
Sarah Tuck has been a Contact Centre and Sales Manager within Financial Services for over 15 years. She started at The Royal Bank of Scotland, before moving to the start up project team at Virgin One Account, and then onto Avivia, and most recently Nationwide. She has a passion for customer led financial services organisations who believe and trust in their staff as well as their proposition. She joined the Group in 2011 as the Mortgage Sales Manager for if I were you and moneyQuest.
Joe Miller – Head of Customer Services
Joe joined Direct Valuations in 2007. He has been heavily involved in the improvement of our business service and profitability, as well as helping us to build great relationships within the field of surveyors. Joe gained a good knowledge and understanding of the financial services sector from his time working at Egg where he was involved in all aspects of operational training. He subsequently moved to Gasbox Ltd where he was responsible for the implementation and organisation of the Customer Service Consultancy, working closely with a number of key financial services clients. Joe now also works closely with the if I were you team.
Michele Southern – Panel Manager
Michele joined Direct Valuations in June 2006 and is responsible primarily for managing the company's business operation and plays a pivotal role in developing and implementing major business change initiatives across the entire business. In addition her role requires her to build and maintain excellent working relationships with the company's panel surveyors. Michele constantly strives to achieve superior business results and uses the experience she has gained from her previous roles.
Liz Brough - Head of Human Resources
Liz joined Shepherd Direct in 2006. As the head of our Human Resources department, her responsibilities include recruitment, payroll, benefits, people development and performance management. Liz is also responsible for the Executive Assistant Team.
Laura Hill – Head of Culture and Wellbeing
Renowned for inspiring and motivating her teams to success, Laura’s passion has always been to increase staff satisfaction levels and decrease attrition & sickness. In 2012 Laura was appointed as Head of Culture and Wellbeing for the group and is responsible for devising, planning & implementing a range of initiatives in service of making Shepherd Direct a Great Place to Work our people.
Laura also heads up Shepherd Direct’s internal well-being programme called ‘Fresh Perspective’ which gives our people the tools, information and support to lead a healthy and active lifestyle – this includes providing our people with fruit, healthy breakfasts, daily exercise classes, mini health checks – all free and a perk of working for us.
