It was linked to the launch of First Direct which at the time was looking for a national valuation solution. Over 20 years later, we're proud to still be working with First Direct & many other lenders across the mortgage industry.

In 2002 we formed Shepherd Surveyors
This was a joint venture between Direct Valuations and J & E Shepherd – a leading Scottish surveying practice. Across the UK, our businesses employ over 150 Surveyors.

We set up The XBond Company in 2007
Working with Zurich, the insurer, we exclusively launched the Zurich Property Deposit Guarantee – a product specifically designed to remove the need for a cash deposit at the point of exchanging contracts on a new, yet to be built, property.

In 2008 we bought over moneyQuest Mortgage Brokers
The largest on-line mortgage broking business in the UK. Through moneyQuest we are working with many of the UK’s lenders and annually will be originating in excess of £1.5billion of new mortgage business.

In 2009 we launched if I were you
if I were you provides impartial guidance to people who want to make important decisions about their personal finances, such as getting the right mortgage, buying property, insuring their belongings or protecting themselves against loss of income, as well as planning for their financial future.

In 2011, we launched Direct Lettings
With over 1,500 properties already under management; the new company superseded J&E Shepherd's letting and property management arm, and so draws on over 130 years heritage and experience in the sector.
